Waterjet cutting machines

TamCut compact industrial waterjet cutting machines

TamCut is a compact industrial waterjet cutting machine for companies that need flexible in-house cutting without investing in a full-size waterjet system. Available in two machine sizes, TamCut 400 and TamCut 1000, the platform brings abrasive and pure waterjet cutting into workshops, laboratories, R&D environments, education and low-volume production.

Both models are built on the same industrial waterjet concept. The main difference is the cutting area.

TamCut overview

Built for professional users, not for hobby benches

TamCut is designed for professional users who need to cut different materials, changing part geometries and small production batches in-house.

It is not a hobby cutter or a desktop gadget. TamCut is compact industrial waterjet technology developed by Muototerä, a Finnish waterjet company with long experience in waterjet cutting, machine building and service.

Installation requirements

Easier to install than a full-size system, but still a real industrial machine

TamCut is designed to make industrial waterjet cutting easier to install than a full-size waterjet system, but it is still a real industrial machine and requires proper utilities.

Please note

A layout drawing and connection requirements are provided before installation.

Typical installation requirements:

400 V, 3-phase electrical supply

Water supply according to specification

Drainage near the machine

Floor load capacity >1000 kg/m2

Straightness of the floor: max 10 mm difference

Room temperature suitable for industrial equipment

Space around the machine for operation and maintenance

Delivery route requires a minimum clearance of 870 mm

Software & HMI

A simple operator workflow on an industrial control system

The HMI is browser-based and runs on a standard PC used as the operator terminal. The PC is not the machine controller. Machine control is handled by a dedicated industrial control system.

This gives TamCut a simple, reliable and hardware-independent user interface while keeping the actual machine control on an industrial platform.

THE GOAL

The goal is to make industrial waterjet cutting usable in everyday workshop work without making the control system unnecessarily complicated.

TamCut operating HMI

Simple workflow from drawing to cut part

1

Create or import the drawing

The cutting geometry is prepared from a drawing, typically based on DXF geometry.

2

Create the cutting program

From Muototerä you will get all necessary programs to create cutting programs from DXF files. Separate CAD /CAM modules available as an option if needed.

3

Transfer the program to TamCut

Cutting programs are transferred to the machine by USB.

4

Check values

With Muototerä’s software, you’ll get cutting parameters automatically. You can change them on the fly if better quality of faster cutting is needed

5

Prepare the machine

Place the material on the cutting table. Set zero point according to your material and adjust the cutting height.

6

Start cutting

Close the cover and go! TamCut cuts the part with abrasive waterjet or pure water, depending on the material and application.

7

Remove the finished part

After cutting, the finished part is removed and the next job can be prepared.

Industrial HMI, made for practical use

TamCut’s user interface is designed for practical workshop use. The HMI focuses on the essential functions needed for everyday cutting:

Program selection

Material and cutting quality selection

Machine status

Cutting preparation

Start and stop functions

Basic operating information

Alarms and messages

Service and maintenance information

The user interface is designed to be clear for operators, while the machine itself is controlled by an industrial automation system.

Program creation from DXF

TamCut is intended for 2D cutting of flat parts. Cutting programs are created from DXF-based geometry. This makes the workflow suitable for:

Flat parts

Holes and openings

Internal contours

Prototype geometries

Maintenance parts

Gaskets and seals

Fixtures and support plates

Test specimens

Small batch production

Please Note

TamCut is not intended for 3D cutting, robotic trimming or 5-axis waterjet applications.

Key Design principles

Compact size, industrial thinking

TamCut is compact, but it is designed as a real industrial waterjet cutting machine. The platform combines practical workshop usability with Muototerä’s long experience in waterjet technology.

The Company

Built by Muototerä in Finland

TamCut is developed and built by Muototerä, a Finnish waterjet company founded in 1953.

Muototerä has worked with waterjet technology since 1987 and uses waterjet cutting in its own production. The company also builds industrial waterjet systems, services waterjet machines and supports customers in demanding cutting applications.

This experience is built into TamCut.

TamCut is not just a software-first machine concept. It is industrial waterjet know-how in a compact form.
